I came across this very interesting advertisement in The New York Times. It is child’s clothing ad from the store Lord and Taylor in New York City. Lord and Taylor was started as a dry good store in 1826 by Samuel Lord and George Washington Taylor. They sold hosiery, misses’ wear and “elegant” Cashmere shawls. It is the oldest upscale, specialty-retail department store in the United States. It was also the first store to make window displays for the Christmas shopping season that had holiday displays instead of just merchandise., Source type: Print(0)
